This Opportunity:

We are seeking a Civil Engineer for our Central New England Operations, working out of our Chelmsford, MA, Boston, MA, or Merrimack, NH office. The work involves engineering design, preparing feasibility studies, and construction support under senior staff guidance.

You will take part in providing local technical assistance for the design, development, and construction of renewable energy projects in the public and private sector. Tasks may include basic research, design, concept development, and construction of solar arrays. Accurate and concise documentation is required for assigned projects.

Your Impact:

  • Perform engineering tasks related to drainage and stormwater, and site civil to support solar development projects.
  • Prepare reports and coordinate support activities, including plan production and drafting report text or comment responses.
  • Prepare permit applications.
  • Prepare construction level drawings in AutoCAD under senior engineers' supervision.
  • Independently complete specific smaller assignments with minimal supervision and coordinate with other staff.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and scientists on projects.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
  • Conduct construction oversight, including final inspections, completion of punch lists, record drawings, and contract closeout.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 0-1 years of engineering/consulting experience with a focus on civil site design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency, and attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills and organizational abilities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on location and experience. This estimate is based on industry standards and job requirements.
