Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Records Specialist to join our team at the City of Winter Garden. This is a full-time position responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sort, separate, and arrange files, reports, letters, and other documents for the Police Department
  • Verify correct input and retrieval of information from a complex filing system
  • Research computerized and physical records and files to respond to requests from judicial agencies, law enforcement agencies, and personnel
  • Confirm the correct recording of payment for collection of fees
  • Receive and answer telephone inquiries from the public and direct them to the appropriate person or department
Requirements
  • Associate degree or higher level of education and recordkeeping and clerical support experience
  • Basic knowledge of public records and public records law in a government environment
  • Proficient in the use of office equipment, including personal computers and software
  • Ability to type at least 40 WPM
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an administrative support role within a police department
  • Bilingual skills
  • FRMA (Florida Records Management Association) certification
