Job Summary

As a Primary Care Physician Assistant at Atrius Health, you will provide high-quality patient care in an ambulatory care setting. Under the general direction of the Chief of Internal Medicine, you will assume full responsibility for rendering professional medical services to a panel of patients. You will work in a collaborative team practice that recognizes the patient as the center of the team, promoting enhanced continuity, visible teamwork, and trusting individual relationships with patients. You will provide the full scope of primary care services within your licensure, education, and training, practicing in accordance with contemporary, evidence-based practice. You will also provide leadership presence to the primary care team, including other PCPs, APCs, RNs, LPNs, MAs, pharmacists, case managers, and population health managers. Additionally, you will act as a mentor and role model to professional staff within the department.

Requirements

Graduate of a State-approved school of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Master of Science degree and Nurse Practitioner certification in an area of specialty required. Possess a current license to practice as a professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and authorization to practice in the expanded role. Possession and maintenance of or eligibility for DEA and Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.

Experience
A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a primary care setting is required.

Good organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy clinical environment. Exceptional customer service skills. Above average oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Ability to effectively communicate and work with physicians, residents, nurses, patients, families, staff, other health care professionals, and management. The ability to work as a team member is necessary for this position.
