Job Summary:

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team in Lexington, Massachusetts. This full-time position involves providing direct patient care and participating in therapeutic milieus.

About the Role:

  • This role requires a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in psychiatric settings. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will work under the direction of an RN to provide direct patient care, including administering medication, documenting patient progress, and developing individualized treatment plans.
  • You will also participate in patient rounds, lead group therapy sessions, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • We are looking for someone who can establish strong relationships with patients, remain calm in high-pressure situations, and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including administration of medication, wound care, and vital sign monitoring
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account patient needs and goals
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
  • Participate in patient rounds, leading group therapy sessions, and conducting one-on-one counseling
  • Document patient progress, maintaining accurate and timely records

Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a psychiatric setting as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Demonstrated ability to establish strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and adhere to regulatory requirements
