Plastering Craftsman

We are seeking a skilled Plastering Craftsman to join our team at Anning-Johnson Company. As a key member of our finishing department, you will be responsible for applying finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring high-quality results that meet our exacting standards.

This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a high level of skill, attention to detail, and physical stamina. You will work on a variety of projects, from residential to commercial, and must be able to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

1. Apply coats of plaster to interior walls, ceilings, and partitions of buildings, using hand tools and portable power tools.
2. Spread plaster over lath or masonry base, using trowel, and smooth out with float to achieve uniform thickness.
3. Apply scratch, brown, or finish coats of plaster to wood, metal, or board lath successively.
4. Roughen undercoat with scratcher to provide bond for succeeding coats of plaster.
5. Create decorative textures in finish coat by marking surface with brush and trowel or by spattering surface with pebbles.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A strong understanding of plastering techniques and materials.
• Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 100 pounds).
