Transportation Operations Specialist

Gannett Fleming is a recognized leader in transportation operations and engineering. We are seeking a highly motivated Transportation Engineer to join our team of transportation professionals in the GF Transportation Operations Group. This position will have the opportunity to work on ITS, traffic signal, tolling, and managed lanes projects throughout the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform engineering design services throughout the project life-cycle, from concept through construction.
- Work with lead engineer and other disciplines to prepare appropriate designs, as dictated by the scope of work.
- Lead the design of specific tasks.
- Analyze moderate to complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures.
- Provide direction to younger staff.
- Develop engineering drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
- Communicate with clients on task-oriented issues and on project issues under the direction of the project manager/task lead.
- Use strong writing skills and engineering planning to develop guidance documents and reports such as systems engineering documents.
- Occasional interaction with clients to relay clear, concise and consistent project-related updates.
- Participate in projects by completing tasks within schedule and budget.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and electronic communications.
- Participate in meetings, seminars, conferences, and committees.
- Occasional project site visits and field work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil or Electrical preferred) or relevant discipline.
- Professional Engineer license preferred (at a minimum, you should be on the path to obtain P.E. licensure).
- 4-8 years' experience working in a relevant field.
- Expertise with CADD.
- Expertise with MS Office.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Some experience with management of project tasks.

Employment Status: Full-Time
Salary Range: $89,000 - $132,000 per year; Salary dependent upon experience and geographic location
