Firefighter/EMT - Emergency Response Specialist

Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Firefighter/EMT to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing medical care and transportation to patients, and operating a fire truck. You will also be required to perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting equipment, and participating in training exercises to stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to emergency calls, including fires, medical emergencies, and other hazards
- Provide medical care and transportation to patients, using advanced life support techniques and equipment
- Operate a fire truck, including driving, navigating, and communicating with dispatch and other emergency services
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting equipment, and participating in training exercises
- Work collaboratively with other emergency responders, including police, ambulance, and other fire departments
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduation from high school and 1 to 2 years of experience in fire protection and licensed as an EMT in Florida
- Knowledge of emergency medical procedures and techniques, including advanced life support and critical care
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, making quick decisions and responding to life-threatening emergencies
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with other emergency responders and the public
- Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous tasks, including climbing, lifting, and carrying heavy equipment
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of physical fitness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and may be exposed to hazardous materials and situations. You will also be required to wear personal protective equipment, including a helmet, coat, and pants, and to follow strict safety protocols to protect yourself and others.
