Power BI Developer

LabConnect is seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to join our team. As a Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data visualizations and dashboards that support our laboratory operations and enhance our client reporting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights for laboratory operations and client needs.
- Collaborate with data engineers to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- Create and optimize data models that facilitate efficient reporting and analysis, with a focus on lab-specific metrics and KPIs.
- Work closely with stakeholders, including laboratory staff and management, to gather requirements and understand reporting needs.
- Monitor the performance of reports and dashboards, implementing optimizations to enhance speed and user experience.
- Maintain clear documentation for BI processes, data sources, and reporting standards to ensure consistency and compliance with industry regulations.
- Provide training and support to end-users, helping them effectively utilize Power BI for their reporting and analytical needs.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in data analytics and visualization, proposing enhancements to our BI tools and methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Power BI development, data visualization, or business intelligence, preferably in a laboratory or healthcare environment.
- Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, QlikView, etc.).
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices specific to scientific data.
- Proficiency in Power BI Services, BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation, particularly with large datasets typical in laboratory settings.
- Experience with data modeling and warehousing concepts, data transformation tools relevant to lab data management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Familiarity with laboratory regulations and standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP) is a plus.
