Procurement Specialist, Supply Chain Management

Job Summary:

The Procurement Specialist will assist the lead Procurement staff with the management and oversight of various procurements and customer service functions for the department.

This position prepares, processes, and administers purchase orders, delivery orders, telephone service requests, building maintenance requests, contract extensions, encumbering contractual obligations, obtaining quotes, and notices of award.

Other duties may include reviewing and assisting with office relocations and assisting with construction oversight during renovation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop specifications, solicit price quotes, issue contracts, and work with end users and suppliers.
  • Conduct formal and/or informal procurements, including soliciting price quotes, preparing negotiated abstracts, negotiating price, issuing awards, administering contracts, issuing amendments, preparing change orders, maintaining procurement files, and responding to protests.
  • Ability to apply procurement principles to complex and diverse purchasing requests.
  • Ability to make emergency purchases.

Requirements:

  • One year of professional procurement experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply management, or a related field may substitute for professional work experience.
  • Knowledge of the state procurement code, procurement regulations, state purchasing policy, and procedures.
