Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern to join our team at Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital. As a Pharmacy Intern, you will assist pharmacists in providing pharmacy services, including the evaluation and input of licensed independent practitioner orders/prescriptions, and the technical functions of drug procurement, preparation, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in providing pharmacy services, including the evaluation and input of licensed independent practitioner orders/prescriptions, and the technical functions of drug procurement, preparation, and distribution.
  • Collect pre-op medication histories on weekday evenings and medication histories for admitted patients on weekends.
  • Provide patient education/counseling under the direct supervision of the pharmacist on staff as training and mentoring permits.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and constantly seek a team approach to developing and achieving best practices and processes.
Requirements
  • Current state Pharmacy Intern license (by the first day of work).
  • Must be accepted/enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience.
Work Environment

This is a PRN position and will work an average of 8 to 12 hours/week with evening and alternating 12 hr weekend shifts at McKay Dee Hospital.
