Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Mental Health Technician to join our team at Halifax Health, a leading healthcare provider in Volusia and Flagler counties.

About the Role

This dynamic role involves providing direct and indirect patient care to child and adolescent patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Program Therapist. The ideal candidate will be able to respond to patients with empathy and provide positive interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide continuous patient care, direct observation/supervision, interaction, and positive role modeling to promote safety and therapeutic treatment
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to facilitate milieu activities, such as community meetings, goals groups, and recreational activities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL)
  • Recognize potential escalation of behavior and utilize effective de-escalation skills
  • Ability to react calmly and therapeutically in crisis situations
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and complete mandatory education requirements

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related mental health field desired
  • BLS certification required
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Halifax Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
