Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation and Controls Specialist to lead the design, testing, installation, and maintenance of complex manufacturing control systems in Los Angeles.

This role involves spearheading multiple projects with minimal supervision and collaborating with engineering teams on materials and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement control systems, recommending components for manufacturing processes and ensuring system integration and interface compatibility.
  • Evaluate emerging control technologies and incorporate them into system designs.
  • Test control systems to verify functionality and safety compliance.
  • Prepare and review electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control diagrams, working closely with engineering teams on materials and suppliers.
  • Oversee equipment performance through regular audits, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning.
  • Manage supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain project documentation using standard methodologies.
Requirements:
  • 8-10 years of experience in controls engineering or a related field.
  • Proficient in electrical schematics, ladder logic, HMI systems, and integrating Safety PLCs.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs, electrical circuits, and robotic systems (Fanuc, Kuka).
  • Understanding of automation, fluid power systems, and vision systems.
  • Familiar with NFPA and OSHA safety standards.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, servo controllers, and CNC troubleshooting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience.
