Role Overview:
The Early Childhood Educator is responsible for the comprehensive management of classroom activities, which includes planning and executing engaging programs, maintaining a conducive learning environment, supervising students, conducting parent-teacher meetings, and overseeing classroom volunteers and assistants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Exhibit patience, compassion, and kindness as essential qualities of our staff.
  • Physically capable of lifting children weighing up to 40 lbs as necessary.
  • Ability to engage with children on the floor when required.
  • Oversee classroom operations, providing guidance, coaching, and evaluation for Teacher Assistants and volunteers in alignment with program policies.
  • Design and implement a holistic educational program utilizing the Tools of the Mind curriculum.
  • Engage with students and parents to cultivate positive relationships and effective communication.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members to address the unique needs of each child.
  • Create and execute plans that offer meaningful learning experiences for children.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and suggest necessary enhancements.
  • Assist in selecting educational materials and resources.
  • Facilitate constructive Parent-Teacher Conferences.
  • Promote respect for the rights and feelings of students, encouraging them to develop similar attitudes towards others.
  • Welcome parents and children warmly, ensuring a smooth transition into the classroom and fostering a strong home-school connection.
  • Responsible for lesson planning, maintaining a supportive classroom environment, and guiding children to meet their individual needs.
  • Encourage parental involvement in educational workshops and activities.
  • Adhere to and promote the school's philosophy and objectives, interpreting policies in a positive manner.
  • Regularly consult with parents and relevant service providers regarding developmental concerns.
  • Implement the school's educational philosophy and instructional goals to ensure student progress.
Qualifications:
  • P-3 Teacher Certification (CEAS or Standard).
  • BA/BS in Early Childhood Education preferred or in a related field with a minimum of 6 credits in Early Childhood Education, along with experience working with preschool-aged children.
  • Familiarity with the Tools of the Mind curriculum is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary commensurate with experience and education.
