Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of school buildings and grounds. This includes cleaning rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways, and other areas of the building according to district standards.

Duties:
  • Clean floors, walls, ceilings, windows, doors, and sills using a variety of equipment and chemicals.
  • Sweep, mop, buff, strip, and wax floors, clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and blinds.
  • Remove graffiti, clean glass areas, replace light bulbs, set up and break down chairs, tables, and equipment in meeting rooms and functional rooms.
  • Clear snow from entrances and walks, spread sand and ice melting chemicals, perform grounds-keeping duties, clear debris, and maintain grounds.
  • Receive deliveries, assist in unloading trucks, and store supplies, deliver supplies and materials to classrooms, bathrooms, and other areas of the building, empty wastebaskets, pick up and remove trash, and assist in the recycling program.

You will work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, making decisions independently to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with students, staff, and visitors.

Requirements:
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.
  • Ability to work in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
  • Ability to work above ground from ladders and automatic lifts.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
Estimated Salary:

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
