Public Affairs Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Public Affairs Specialist to join our team on the East Coast. As a key member of our public affairs team, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing legislative and regulatory developments affecting our clients in the food, chemical, biotechnology, and related industries.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Monitoring and reporting on US federal and state legislative affairs, with a focus on issues relevant to our clients
- Developing and maintaining relationships with senior government officials, industry stakeholders, and other external partners
- Creating and disseminating policy alerts, newsletters, and other communications to internal and external audiences
- Liaising with internal business teams to provide strategic advice and support on public affairs matters
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, public affairs, government relations, communications, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in advocacy, communication, government relations, or public affairs, preferably in the food, chemical, biotechnology, or related industries
- Experience or strong knowledge of US federal and state legislative affairs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience using PowerPoint, Excel, and other tools to create presentations and reports
