Aviation Program Lecturer

San Jose State University is seeking highly qualified instructors to join our esteemed Aviation Program. As a member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of future aviation professionals, imparting your knowledge and expertise to students from diverse backgrounds.

In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for organizing and delivering high-quality courses within our Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). Your classes must meet as scheduled throughout the entire semester or term, adhering to the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, bichronous, in-person, or hybrid).
About Our Aviation Program- We offer four undergraduate options: Professional Flight, Aviation Management, Flight Operations, and Maintenance Management.
- Our program boasts an impressive 270 students, with access to cutting-edge facilities, including over 10 simulators and a 10,000 SF hangar.
We encourage our students to engage in internships, research projects, and community service, providing them with valuable hands-on experience and opportunities for growth.
Required Qualifications- You should possess a deep understanding of and sensitivity to the educational needs of a multicultural population, gained through cross-cultural study, training, teaching, or comparable experience.
- A PhD or MS degree in the field or related areas is required, although exceptional cases may consider a BS degree with relevant industry experience.
- Industry experience is highly desirable, demonstrating your subject matter expertise and ability to apply it effectively in the classroom.
- Evidence of satisfactory achievement in previous academic work is essential.

Compensation PackageWe offer a competitive compensation package, with salary ranges varying based on qualifications and experience:
- L-A / Range 2: $5,507 - $5,959 per month
- L-B / Range 3: $6,221 - $7,481 per month
- L-C / Range 4: $6,825 - $9,431 per month
- L-D / Range 5: $8,593 - $10,347 per month
Please note that part-time rates are prorated accordingly.
This position is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations, and we anticipate starting salaries ranging from $55,074 to $123,804 annually, depending on the selected range.
