We are seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

About the Role:

Job Summary:

  • Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
  • Implements and monitors patient care plans, monitoring records, and communicating patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to assess patients and identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-related needs in order to provide individualized care to the patient.
  • Delegate aspects of care to other nursing personnel consistent with their level of education and expertise in order to meet patients' needs and maximize staff performance.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • Current Connecticut RN license.
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
  • Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
  • Two years of Medical-Surgical/Critical Care experience preferred.
