We are seeking an Electrical Engineer - Space Communications Payload Specialist to join our team. Estimated salary for this position is $140,000 per year, based on national averages in the United States.

Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge space communications projects as part of a dynamic and growing company. As an Electrical Engineer - Space Communications Payload Specialist at Lynk Inc, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing advanced communication systems for spacecraft payloads.

  • You will support the design and development of spacecraft payload hardware and software, including single-board computers, software-defined radios, FPGAs, SoCs, processors, LNAs, filters, amplifiers, etc.
  • You will work closely with our Systems Engineering team to inform constellation/network architecture and design based on RF communications payload performance.
  • You will develop link budget analyses, simulations, traffic/capacity analysis, RF system design and dimensioning, coverage and frequency planning, etc.
  • You will also be involved in bench-level mechatronics work, including testing, integration, assembly, programming, and prototyping of electronics hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support design of spacecraft payload hardware and software
  • Develop link budget analyses and simulations
  • Work with Systems Engineering team to inform constellation/network architecture and design
  • Bench-level mechatronics work including testing and prototyping
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree (or better) in RF or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience working on projects developing space payload hardware and software (preferably communications systems)
  • Hands-on experience with software-defined radios, antennas, FPGAs, GPUs, CPUs, SoCs, single-board computers, microcontrollers
  • Programming proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. C++, C, Python, MATLAB, etc.)
  • Experience working with Linux-based systems
  • Familiarity with VHDL or Verilog and Altera or Xilinx FPGAs
