Job Summary
The Division of Business and Management at Keuka College is looking for an adjunct instructor to teach accounting courses in the undergraduate and graduate Management degree programs. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in accounting and an active professional accounting certification such as CPA or CMA.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver course instruction based on approved syllabi, goals, and objectives.
- Design, administer, and grade course assignments, essays, and exams to assess student learning.
- Provide regular feedback, academic warnings, and midterm progress reports as necessary.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and engage students in the learning process.
- Maintain regular office hours to meet with students.
- Work with the Program Director to ensure instructional and program quality.
- Contribute to program development through collaborative participation in curriculum design and review.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards colleagues and students.
- Attend training and meetings as required.
- Perform other functions as assigned by management.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in accounting is required. A Ph.D. in Accounting or Finance or D.B.A. is preferred.
- An active professional accounting certification such as CPA or CMA is required.
- Two to three years of teaching experience is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Understand and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to work under pressure and with diverse groups of people.
Physical Requirements
- Evening and weekend hours may be required.
