Job Summary

The Offshore Geospatial Expert leads the operation of Survey and Positioning equipment in a safe and efficient manner, maintaining and repairing electronic censoring associated with survey equipment. This position requires offshore work in the Gulf of Mexico and other remote locations, necessitating ability to travel domestically and internationally as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

•Install, calibrate, and operate surface and subsea sensors for real-time vessel and remotely operated vehicle positioning.

•Lead the team in operating cameras (video and still), acoustic positioning systems, sonars, subsea tooling, and surface positioning systems.

•Possess knowledge of geospatial data collection and analysis processes.

•Maintain parts and supplies inventory, ensuring timely availability.

•Perform all other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

•High School Diploma or General Education Degree required.

•Five to eight years' experience in Survey or Geoscience as a Survey Professional.

•Must possess or obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in the US.

•Ability to obtain a valid Passport and other regionally mandated offshore work documents.

DESIRED

•Two-year Technical Degree or higher in a related field preferred.

•Bachelor's Degree or equivalent desired.

•Current security clearance or ability to obtain it.

Working Conditions

This is an OFFSHORE position characterized by:

•Outdoor and indoor work, day and night, over/near water.

•Working on or near moving and vibrating equipment.

•Frequent exposure to humidity above 90%, noise over 85db, and intense/glare light.

•Potential exposure to open flames/sparks.

•Constant airborne dust, fumes, and gases.

•Stable work surface with elevated height.

Physical Demands/Requirements

This position requires:

•Occasional lifting of 50-100 pounds.

•Sitting, twisting, crawling, climbing stairs/ladders, and repetitive arm and hand movements.

•Operating small water vessels or ATVs.

•Frequent lifting of 25-50 pounds.

•Wearing PPE for head and hands.

•Balancing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, lifting/carrying objects, and handling/feeling.

•Differentiating between colors.

•Operating a motor vehicle.

•Constant standing and walking.

•Wearing PPE for body, vision, and hearing protection.

•Close vision ability and adjusting focus.

•Hearing across all ranges.

•Wearing steel-toed shoes/boots.

Salary Estimate

Based on industry standards and location, we estimate the salary range for this position to be $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience.
