Inpatient Support Team Member

Job Summary:
The Mental Health Technician plays a vital role on our inpatient team, providing direct supervision and interaction with adults experiencing serious mental health disorders. This involves taking vital signs, serving meals and snacks, monitoring client activities, and behaviors. The MHT engages with clients in a respectful, professional, and courteous manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Supervision: Monitor and supervise client activities and behaviors, including general supervision of milieu and completion of scheduled patient rounding.
- Clinical Documentation: Complete clear, objective clinical documentation regarding patient activities and behaviors in an appropriate time frame.
- Feedback and Reporting: Provide feedback to clinical staff regarding patient interactions, activities, and behaviors, and report suspected changes in patient condition or potential crisis situations to the charge nurse or unit leader.
- Treatment Plan Adherence: Adhere to and follow the patients' written treatment plan.
- Verbal Redirection and Guidance: Provide verbal redirection and gradual guidance to patients if needed, and role model appropriate behavior, utilizing de-escalation techniques aligning with FBH provided training.
- Monitoring and Cleaning: Remain alert and provide direct line-of-sight monitoring of patients as needed, and provide general house cleaning services, such as vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, laundry, and sanitation of counters.
- Social Engagement: Engage patients in social conversation, provide supportive listening, encourage, and/or set up recreation activities.
- Patient Belongings and Inventory: Complete patients' personal belongings inventory and assist with admissions as needed.
- Training and Meetings: Attend/participate in required trainings, meetings, and supervision sessions.
- Patient Meals and Snacks: Serve patient meals and snacks.
- Customer Service: Maintain and enhance customer service to ensure that both external and internal customers of FBH have a positive experience.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all RNs', providers, and FBH staff.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Certifications: Active Nursing Assistant Registration or Certification at time of Application
- Licensure: Food Handlers Permit within 7 days of hire
- Skills: Basic computer skills, including ability to document in an electronic medical record, use electronic time tracking, use of Outlook, Word, and intranet
Benefits:
