Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedics Team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in providing advanced practitioner care to patients under the supervision of an orthopedic surgeon. This role involves operative assistance for orthopedic surgery in both hospital and ambulatory settings, as well as inpatient rounding, monitoring patient progress, formulating care plans, and counseling patients and families.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate overall care to enhance the patient experience
- Assist with surgical procedures in both hospital and outpatient settings
- Round on admitted patients, monitor their progress, and formulate care plans
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Unencumbered license to practice as a PA in the state of Maine or eligibility to obtain one
- NCCPA certification as a Physician Assistant
- Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program
- 100 hours of CME every two years and recertification exam every six years
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification
- Current DEA with no restrictions
