Tax Manager Job Description

Vaco is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Your expertise will be crucial in preparing and filing tax returns, developing tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position, and providing guidance on tax-related matters to internal departments and senior management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including income, sales, property, and other business taxes.
  • Tax Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities while complying with applicable laws.
  • Tax Reporting: Oversee the preparation of tax provision and reporting requirements under GAAP or IFRS.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax risks, including reviewing contracts and transactions for potential tax implications.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve tax processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, MST, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant tax experience, including managerial responsibilities.
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
