Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technician to join our team at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. As a Nuclear Medicine Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic treatments involving radiopharmaceuticals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic treatments under the direction of a physician.
- Start IVs and urinary catheters as needed.
- Calibrate and maintain equipment, including Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
- Assist with maintenance of files and encoding patient data.
- Work with hazardous materials.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
- Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Nuclear Medicine laboratory principles and techniques.
- Ability to prioritize work and perform under stressful and emergency situations.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact and work as a team with staff and medical personnel.
