Job Overview

Spartan Placements, LLC is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team. This role will provide strategic guidance and leadership to clients on tax-related matters.

Salary Range

The estimated salary for this position is $90,000 - $140,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.

Job Responsibilities
  • We are looking for a seasoned professional to plan, supervise, and complete routine engagements, including reviewing engagement work papers, resolving problems, and keeping the director informed of all important developments.
  • The ideal candidate will supervise Associates and Senior Associates, providing feedback and evaluating their career development.
  • They will coordinate with team members to work jointly on tax engagements and become an expert in their assigned areas and specialties.
  • This role involves recognizing opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients, overseeing the preparation and filing of all tax returns, and developing and implementing tax planning strategies.
  • The Tax Manager will review and analyze financial statements to identify tax issues and opportunities, conduct research independently to address tax law, tax planning, and other client needs.
  • They will develop and maintain relationships with external tax advisors and government agencies.
Requirements
  • A Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Masters Degree is preferred.
  • CPA or EA certification is required, along with 5-10 years of experience in public accounting.
  • SALT experience is preferred, and proficiency in Excel and research-based software is essential.
  • The successful candidate will be a skilled communicator, both verbally and written, well-organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to take and pass a background check and work flexible hours as needed.
