Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Peer Support Specialist to join our team at Suncoast Center. In this role, you will provide direct clinical services and support to clients with severe mental illness, using solution-oriented strategies and principles of recovery.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for providing individualized support to clients, assisting them in achieving their goals and promoting personal growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Complete accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and other required records.
  • Direct Clinical Services: Provide solution-focused interventions and recovery-based support to clients, incorporating symptom management and medication adherence into treatment plans.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Participate in daily staff meetings, treatment planning reviews, and case discussions, ensuring seamless communication among team members and stakeholders.
  • Service Coordination: Coordinate with clients' families, community supports, and other FACT staff to ensure comprehensive care and address client needs.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Licensure and Certification: Ability to obtain Florida Peer Recovery Specialist Certification.
  • Education and Experience: High School Graduate or GED Certificate, 2+ years of experience in recovery from serious mental illness, and expertise in supporting clients with similar disorders.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in computer software, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions and Benefits

This position requires occasional travel to FACT offices and community settings. The ideal candidate must have a valid Florida Driver's License, a reliable vehicle, and acceptable driving record.

Suncoast Center offers a competitive salary range of $45,000-$55,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic organization.
