As a Machine Tool Repair Specialist at Precision Castparts Corp, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining mechanical and hydraulic components of production machines and equipment. This includes working with industry-specific and high-complexity precision machines, using precision leveling and alignment tools, and conducting preventative maintenance on conveyors, lathes, mills, grinders, saws, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, pumps, and other equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Works with industry-specific and high-complexity precision machines, including conveyors, lathes, mills, grinders, saws, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, pumps, gears, bearings, compressors, and other equipment.
Uses precision leveling and alignment tools to measure angles, material thickness, and small distances with calipers, squares, micrometers, and other tools.
Fits bearings, aligns gears and wheels, attaches motors, and connects belts according to manufacturer's blueprints and drawings.
Assists with the dismantling of machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
Fabricates and installs parts on equipment and machinery by measuring, cutting, and drilling.
Assists with the unloading, inspecting, moving, and setting of equipment into position using cranes, hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
Uses rigging and hoisting devices such as chokers, chain falls, and hand winches to move equipment and materials into place.
Conducts preventative maintenance on conveyors, lathes, mills, grinders, saws, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, pumps, and other equipment.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED and 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prefer knowledge of Lathe, Mills, Cut Off Saw, and Drill Press equipment. Machining, Hydraulics, and Pneumatics experience are a plus.
Working Conditions
This position requires working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards. The successful applicant must be willing to work shift work and various shifts. No shift preference is guaranteed.
