Job Title: Radiation Therapy Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapy Specialist to join our team at Unavailable. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring accurate treatment delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and verify their identity, reviewing charts for proper radiation treatment parameters and physician prescriptions.
  • Inform patients and families about the treatment process and address any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Prepare patients for treatment, positioning equipment according to plan and ensuring accurate setup.
  • Take portal films or IGRT scans to confirm treatment protocols are accurately set up and followed.
  • Verify proper dosage of ionizing radiation for patients as prescribed by physicians.
  • Administer treatment to patients and monitor them throughout the process.
  • Inform physicians if patients experience distress or side effects related to treatment.
  • Record each patient's treatment in electronic medical records (EMRs) and maintain accurate notes.
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in the field through reading relevant literature and attending educational seminars.
  • As directed by radiation oncologists, construct immobilization devices, position, and mark patients during simulation.
  • Collaborate with staff on general scheduling, patient charging, and order entry.
  • Participate in scheduled chart round conferences and quality meetings.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A satisfactory completion of a JRCERT-accredited Radiation Therapy Program.
  • ARRT (T) boards completion within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
