English Instructor

PCYC is a community-based nonprofit organization with a 68-year history of delivering exceptional education, arts, and youth programming to children, families, and the North Minneapolis community.

We are seeking a highly qualified English Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing curriculum that is inclusive of the arts and technology, maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment, and providing effective feedback to students.

• Develop and implement curriculum that is inclusive of the arts and technology
• Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment
• Provide coverage in other classrooms as assigned
• Identify individual student needs and differentiate curriculum as needed
• Ensure effective and timely feedback for students
• Collaborate with the Educational Leadership Team to plan, develop, and implement best practices
• Maintain thorough and continued awareness and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP), 504 Plans, and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
• Accurately complete attendance records and incident reports

• Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred
• Previous teaching experience preferred
• Able to relate effectively and positively with adults and youth from diverse social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds
• Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Adept at both verbal and written communication on an interpersonal or group level
• Ability to teach the required curricula
• High level of competence in computer applications
• Skilled at prioritizing work with multiple competing demands
• Valid Minnesota Secondary Teaching License for English, certificate or other legal credentials required for level of assignment or ability to be waived by the Minnesota Department of Education
• Valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet PCYC's driving record requirements

PCYC offers a competitive salary range of $49,000-$58,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance, dental and vision insurance, and employer contributions to a Health Savings Account.
