At Cary Medical Center, we are seeking a dedicated CNA to join our team in the Acute Care Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing incoming information via telephone, call bell, and direct conversation by directing the appropriate person. You will also participate in up-staffing and down-staffing for the present and incoming shift in collaboration with the Charge Nurse/Supervisor/Nurse Manager.

In addition, you will perform various CNA duties, including but not limited to:

  • Promoting patient safety and adhering to the patient fall risk program, with regular fall risk rounding at least twice per shift.
  • Obtaining and documenting vital signs, reporting any abnormal findings to the patient's nurse.
  • Performing daily weights and reporting any abnormal findings to the patient's nurse.
  • Appropriately documenting ADLs, ambulation, intake and output, vital signs, weights, safety rounding, and other patient care activities performed throughout the shift.
  • Ensuring patients have access to fresh water while observing those with NPO status or fluid restrictions.
  • Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing necessary supplies.
  • Supporting patient ambulation according to physician orders.

To be considered for this role, you must possess an active, valid CNA certificate in Maine. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and you should be willing to obtain BLS certification within one year of hire and maintain it thereafter.
