Assistant Plant Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Plant Manager to join our team at Tenaska. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our power plant facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily direction and oversight of O&M personnel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimal equipment performance.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime.
- Evaluate and improve operational and maintenance processes to achieve continuous improvement.
- Lead a culture of safety and accountability, ensuring personnel adhere to established procedures and practices.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the effectiveness of O&M staff.
- Oversee a comprehensive maintenance program, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
- Manage planning and execution of planned outages, ensuring work is performed as scheduled to meet performance and cost objectives.
- Communicate and coordinate efforts to ensure plant operation aligns with asset management objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of 5 years of power plant experience or 10 years of industry-related work experience.
- NERC regulatory knowledge and gas turbine experience are highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, motivational, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with large groups.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with extended working hours and varied shifts.
The position requires extended working hours and varied shifts, with weekend and holiday work as required. On-call status will periodically be required. All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program, which includes a pre-employment physical examination and random drug screening during employment.
