Job Title: Vocational Nurse

Job Summary:

UTMB Health is seeking a skilled Vocational Nurse to provide direct nursing care to patients in a correctional setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, as well as participating in multidisciplinary treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including administering medications and treatments.
  • Assess and document patient status, including physiological and behavioral changes.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment plans and prioritize patient care needs.
  • Follow physician orders and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Adhere to infection control and isolation procedures.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program and current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Current BLS-HP certification.
  • Ability to work in a correctional setting and maintain security clearance.

Work Environment:

Located within the confines of a prison, jail, or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
