About the Role

VHB is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Transportation to join our Tampa office and help expand our transportation practice. As a key leader, you will leverage your extensive expertise and industry connections to directly impact some of the region's most high-profile transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex transportation engineering and planning assignments for public and private sector clients.
• Cultivate and maintain deep industry relationships within the Greater Tampa area and the West Coast of Florida, generating new business opportunities.
• Oversee the management of significant projects, ensuring they are on budget, on schedule, and exceed client expectations.
• Play a crucial role in developing the office's growth strategy, identifying new market opportunities, and driving business development efforts.
• Mentor and develop our talented team, fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's Degree preferred.
• 15+ years of Transportation Engineering/Planning experience.
• AICP or PE strongly preferred.
• Advanced knowledge in transportation engineering and planning, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
• A well-established network within the transportation sector, particularly in the Gulf Coast region.
• Strong business acumen and experience in developing and executing growth strategies.
• Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to manage and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Leadership qualities with a passion for mentoring and developing staff.
