Internship Experience & Responsibilities

As a Fitness Coach & Trainer intern, you'll help members and guests enhance their lives through health and fitness while enhancing career readiness and educational objectives. Your responsibilities include:

  • Following academic program requirements
  • Applying theories and competencies learned
  • Developing and advancing new knowledge and skills
  • Enhancing career readiness and educational objectives
  • Watching online learning modules on exercise science, customer service, sales, technology, and more
  • Introduction to functional movement screening, dynamic warm-ups, corrective exercises, and self-myofascial work
  • Observing small group training sessions, personal training sessions, and fitness consultations
  • Attending trainer meetings and focus meetings
  • Assisting the Club Manager with membership/training sales and community engagement
  • Assisting the Lead Trainer with follow-ups, scheduling fitness consultations, and floor pulls
  • Leading small group training sessions, personal training sessions, and fitness consultations
  • Discussing trainer-in-training opportunities after the internship
Qualifications

To be considered for this internship, you must:

  • Be enrolled in an internship for academic credit
  • Have a strong desire to work in the health and fitness industry
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Display a friendly, outgoing, and warm demeanor
  • Have a genuine and honest personality
  • Be technologically savvy
  • Be self-motivated and proactive
  • Be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license
