The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is a dynamic and innovative organization that provides civilian professionals with the opportunity to make a difference in the field of cybersecurity. We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Network Architect to join our team.

Job Summary

This position requires a candidate with extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing network systems for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats. The successful candidate will serve as a Combat Air Forces (CAF), Air Force Engineering and Technical Services (AFETS) Information Technology Specialist and network administrator, providing technical advice, assistance, and training to unit personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage network systems for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats
  • Provide technical advice, assistance, and training to unit personnel
  • Monitor the Local Area Network/Wide Area Network, including planning, analysis, acquisition, design, development, implementation, quality assurance, configuration, installation, integration, maintenance testing, operational integrity, and/or management of networked systems
Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

  • A U.S. Citizenship
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance
  • This is a drug testing designated position; employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
  • Knowledge of a full range of network systems (LAN/WAN) design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services that support functional requirements
  • Knowledge of the network architecture, topology, protocols, and security requirements typically found at the base level
  • Knowledge of configuration management concepts and practices to develop and implement plans for LANs and WANs
  • Ability to analyze component interrelationships and evaluate network systems and computer applications from an operational perspective
  • Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meet future requirements
