Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and Relationship-Based Care model as the framework.
- Develop, implement, and update patient plans of care based on ongoing assessment and input from patients and families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to promote effective patient care and share information to ensure seamless communication.
- Verify and implement orders from physicians, physician assistants, and advanced practice nurses, and document accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Engage and educate patients and families to develop appropriate patient educational plans and recognize symptoms, establish priorities, and respond to changing patient needs.
- Delegate tasks to support personnel and provide feedback and support to ensure effective teamwork.
- Commit to UI Health's values through teamwork and effective communication to achieve quality outcomes, patient safety, customer satisfaction, and a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment.
- Eligibility for licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation.
- Current AHA BLS/CPR and other required unit-specific certifications.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.
- 2+ years of RN experience, preferably in PACU, ICU, Cath Lab, IR, Neuro, or ED.
- Effective communication skills (oral and written) to facilitate therapeutic relationships between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Intermediate computer skills with the ability to become proficient in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) with on-the-job training.
- Excellent attendance, interpersonal skills, and work history.
