Job Title: Senior Detention Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Detention Officer to join our team at National Guard Employment Network. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the administrative and operational security activities in a detention facility, ensuring the protection of inmates and the preservation of their legal rights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Detention Officers and inmates on the shift, evaluating their performance and ensuring adherence to facility and corporate policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections of housing and general use areas to maintain proper standards and ensure the security, health, safety, sanitation, and welfare of inmates and staff.
  • Assist in supervising the internal and external security of the facility, inspecting posts to observe the alertness of personnel and confirm security is properly maintained.
  • Provide general supervision and direction to Detention Officers and inmates, ensuring the effective performance of their duties.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience in a criminal justice field, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Completion of basic pre-service officer training and, where applicable, a non-commissioned security officer license.
  • A valid driver's license.

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to work any post assignment on any shift. A high level of physical fitness and the ability to work in a secure and potentially hazardous environment are essential.
