Nurse Care Specialist

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a key member of the Nursing Team in assisting and supervising residents in all activities of daily living. This role requires a strong clinical leader who can direct all care-related items from admission through discharge.
Responsibilities- Serve as the nursing leader and educator on the unit
- Guide the medical team (MD, LPN and CNAs) as well as all clinical disciplines in a coordinated effort with the resident and family to create a comprehensive interdisciplinary individualized plan of care
- Together with the other members of the clinical team, responds and reacts timely and according to protocol to prevent re-hospitalizations and potential emergency situations
- Educates and reinforces clinical competencies of nursing staff in areas such as wound care, ostomy care, foley catheter insertion and care, medication administration through all routes including G-tube and IVs, trach care and suctioning
