Responsibilities

1. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all policies and procedures.
2. Ensure compliance with safety procedures and PPE requirements.
3. Follow the direction of the immediate supervisor and adhere to quality guidelines and preventative maintenance.
4. Collaborate with plant employees and supervisors to resolve design problems related to material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, service requirements, and manufacturing procedure.
5. Disassemble, repair, and modify blanking and forming dies, and make tool designs according to trial or production service data to improve tool life or performance.
6. Fabricate ball out dies, bending blocks, mandrels, blanking and forming dies, and related tooling.
7. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of factory tooling and operations.
8. Read blueprints and use precision inspection equipment effectively.

Requirements

• Journeyman toolmaker or equivalent experience.
• Four to eight years of experience as a toolmaker or machinist.
• Strong knowledge of all tool room equipment.
• Proficient in using computers to operate machinery.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted.
• Exposed to dust, noise, mechanical equipment, oils, vibration.
• Frequent reaching, fingering, grasping, feeling.
• Ocasional bending/stooping, squatting/crouching, pushing, pulling.
• Able to stand or walk majority of shift.
• Able to work independently, make judgments, and perform under stress.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
