Job Title: Control Room Operator, Renewable Generation

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Control Room Operator to join our team at Nexamp. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our renewable energy assets, including solar photovoltaic and energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and monitor our renewable energy assets in real-time, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and respond to abnormal operating conditions, using critical thinking and problem-solving skills to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with our operations team to develop and implement standard operating procedures for our renewable energy assets.
  • Work closely with regional transmission operators and local ISOs to ensure seamless integration of our assets into the grid.
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and resolve issues with our equipment.
  • Record and report data, as well as compile and distribute reports as required.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements:
  • 2-year degree in Electrical Technology/Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in a generation control room.
  • Advanced computer skills, including experience with SCADA system operations and MS Office Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of the Bulk Electric System, including AC electrical generation and high voltage transmission processes.
  • Availability to work rotating shift work, 365 days a year, including weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to develop and complete an extensive in-house training program, as well as NERC or ISO equivalent certification programs.
