Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Orthopedic Medical Surgical unit at Christus Health. This 36-bed unit specializes in the care of patients ranging from Orthopedic, Spine, Neurological, Plastics, and Trauma related surgeries.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect an estimated annual salary of $85,000 - $110,000, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer flexible scheduling, shift differentials for nights and weekends, and time-and-a-half pay for major holidays.

About the Role

As a Registered Professional Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will also prescribe, delegate, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate patient teaching and the activities of ancillary nursing personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A graduate degree from a State Board accredited School of Nursing or equivalent;
  • At least one year of RN acute hospital experience, preferably in an orthopedic setting;
  • A current RN license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas;
  • American Heart Association BLS certification within two weeks of employment.

Work Environment

This role requires flexibility with regards to scheduling, with shifts available from 7pm to 7am. Shift differentials apply for night shifts, weekends, and holidays. We promote a team atmosphere with a focus on patient-centered care, and our team works closely with Beaumont Bone and Joint, Physical Therapy department, and an in-house Nurse Practitioner to provide exceptional post-surgical care.
