Position Overview:

The Employment Advisor at Tommy Nobis Center will deliver job readiness training, develop job opportunities, and provide coaching to adults with disabilities. This role is crucial in facilitating clients' entry into competitive job markets and ensuring positive outcomes for those served.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify suitable employment opportunities for program participants.
  • Engage with potential employers to create job openings for participants.
  • Conduct job development activities, including assistance with applications, interview preparation, and initial transportation arrangements.
  • Plan, implement, and coordinate all employment services for participants, providing case management and support as necessary.
  • Advocate for and educate the community on inclusive employment practices for individuals with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with participants and their families to formulate personalized service plans for career development and goal setting.
  • Coordinate services both internally and with external referral sources.
  • Incorporate participant feedback in the design and execution of employment services.
  • Maintain precise documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide ongoing updates regarding participant progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate internship opportunities for participants at community work sites.
  • Represent Tommy Nobis Center at agency meetings and community functions.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Rehabilitation or a related field with 2 years of experience, or
  • Associate's Degree in Rehabilitation or a related field with 5 years of experience, or
  • 7 or more years of relevant work experience.

Experience Required:

  • Background in rehabilitation or a related field.
  • Experience in sales, networking, or business development.

Qualifications:

  • Outgoing personality with the ability to cultivate business relationships.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
