About the Job
The Mental Health Technician will play a critical role in supporting our nursing staff in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for performing various tasks, including vital sign monitoring, inventory management, and assisting patients with daily activities. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in areas such as de-escalation techniques, infection control, and patient advocacy.

Key Responsibilities
* Perform vital signs, weights, ADL, intake and output documentation, nutritional monitoring, and communicate findings to the nurse.
* Assist patients with laundry, meals, bathroom functions, and maintaining their belongings, as well as assisting at-risk and physically challenged patients with mobility needs as required.
* Inventory patient belongings accurately and secure contraband as necessary, complete unit safety checks.
* Comply with standard/universal precautions and infection control policies, attend required in-services to stay informed.
* Implement patient care activities under the direction of licensed nursing personnel.

What We Are Looking For
* A diploma or certification in a related field (e.g., nursing assistant, EMT-Basic).
* 1+ years of experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in mental health care.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Salary and Benefits
* A competitive salary of $50,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
