Job Summary

As a Manufacturing Process Optimization Engineer at Daimler Truck North America, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and economical production of goods. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement new or revised production processes, ensuring that manufacturing processes are complete and ready for SOP when product changes occur.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new or revised production processes for efficient/economical production of goods.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are complete and ready for SOP when product changes occur.
  • Perform time studies on manufacturing processes to ensure accuracy.
  • Develop business cases for new and current products.
  • Analyze product designs for the best method of manufacturing.
  • Specify tools, equipment, and processes to produce a part or assembly or evaluate processes in assigned areas.
  • Support the design and building of tools and equipment or recommend improvements to existing processes to improve quality and throughput.
  • Participate in teams and cross-functional groups.
  • Identify process improvements in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Provide assistance for prototype, pilot, and production support.
  • Incorporate ergonomics into safety, productivity, and performance.
  • Support budgeting process to include recommending capital improvements and preparing justification data as required.
  • Perform special projects as required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university/college with 3+ years of related experience OR Master's degree with 1+ years of experience OR Associates degree with 5+ years' experience OR 7+ years' experience required.
