Job Title: EHS Manager

The Safety Department at our Urbana, Ohio facility is seeking an EHS Manager to support new safety and environmental programs, as well as existing ones. This role will play a key part in promoting a safe working culture and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.

The successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate with the global IPL community to share information, strategy, and activities.
  • Interface with vendors to order necessary supplies and Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Coordinate EHS needs with department management, supervisors, and employees.
  • Promote a drug-free workplace and policies.
  • Facilitate and monitor safety at the site through daily audits.
  • Assemble, track, and report relevant EHS information.
  • Schedule and facilitate monthly Safety Committee meetings.
  • Coordinate Industrial Hygiene testing and monitoring efforts.
  • Initiate, manage, and promote safety incentives and coaching programs.
  • Maintain EHS chemical management systems and certification.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on incidents and injuries.
  • Responsibility for all aspects of Worker's Compensation.
  • Maintain and coordinate completion of EHS internal and external reporting.
  • Keep current on new EHS regulations and standards changes.
  • Maintain all environmental management systems.
  • Present EHS-related information during the new hire process.
  • Create, schedule, and/or present all Safety, Health, and Environmental Training.
  • Develop and maintain a departmental budget for EHS-related improvements and cost-saving initiatives.

Essential experience and skills:

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in Environmental Management, Occupational Health, and Safety, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3-5 years related Safety leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to spend a significant amount of time in the production area.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply industry regulatory standards and policies.
  • Excellent time management skills with an adherence to deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with self-direction.
  • Ability to problem solve, analyze situations, and make recommendations for improvement.
