Clinical Laboratory Supervisor

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lab Supervisor II to join our team. As a Clinical Lab Supervisor II, you will be responsible for supervising the technical and operational day-to-day activities of the laboratory section assigned.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise staff of an individual lab section ensuring all work performed in the section is accurate and completed within established or agreed upon turn-around times and in accordance with all policies and procedures.
- Draft procedures/protocols as directed.
- Work with directors and managers to establish and implement technical and departmental procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and serve as department representative to clinical programs as assigned by manager.
- Orient new employees and assure completion of all training, competency assessments, and mandatory education.
- Monitor the testing program of the laboratory to ensure the highest quality of testing and the highest level of customer service.
- Lead individuals in work groups to continuously improve performance by creating an environment that assures application of quality principles and techniques to achieve desired outcomes.
- Interview and recommend the selection of suitable candidates for employment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, laws, and requirements of requisite agencies by employing appropriate systems/processes.
- Consistently administer the established criteria and processes for evaluation, promotion, and termination of all staff within designated area of responsibility.
- Supervise the section participation in studies, research, publications, and public presentations.
- May coordinate with area schools and universities for clinical rotations/training of students.
- 5 years clinical laboratory experience with 1 year in supervisory/leadership role.
- Current registration/certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology ASCP in one of the following: Certified Medical Technologist, Technologist registered/certified in Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, or Blood Banking.
- Bachelor's degree in Med Tech or Med Lab Science.
