ECEAP Teacher/Family Advocate Position

The Child Care Action Council is seeking a dedicated ECEAP Teacher/Family Advocate to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in promoting early learning communities where families and children thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans to optimize each child's development. Engage in positive interactions with children to enrich and maintain a safe environment. Monitor children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their physical and emotional well-being. Direct teacher assistants and volunteers to maximize their efficiency and meet work requirements. Advise staff members and families on child development and provide resources to support individual classroom goals. Assess each child's developmental level and document progress. Act as a support and resource person for families, helping to case manage specific needs and advocate for their interests. Conduct and document formal family-focused center conferences/home visits to provide information and resources to families. Implement Mobility Mentoring with assigned families and meet required deadlines. Contribute to the team to define and clarify roles and expectations with coworkers and cooperate with other program staff to maintain program quality. Interact with children, families, and co-workers in a positive manner. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate methods required to perform activities for an effective program. Participate in various on-site and off-site program activities to convey and/or receive information related to program plans. Attend educational workshops, seminars, and in-services to maintain professional knowledge.
Requirements
An Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field is required. Two years of experience working in early childhood programs, preferably in ECEAP, Head Start, and/or other state Pre-K programs, is preferred. Candidates working towards a degree will be considered, depending on other qualifications. Proficiency in Microsoft Programs, including Outlook, is also required. A DCYF Portable Background Check, proof of a recent negative TB test, Infant/Child CPR/First Aid certification, and a Food handler's card are necessary. Participation in assigned initial and on-going professional development is also required.
