Job Summary

The Complaint Resolution Officer plays a critical role in addressing complaints of harassment and discrimination at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). This position requires a high level of discretion, independence, and judgment to assess and negotiate complex situations, maintain confidentiality, and ensure neutrality when handling matters.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting outreach and intake interviews related to allegations of harassment and discrimination, assessing documentary evidence, and conducting alternative resolutions when appropriate. They will also make recommendations concerning matters that should be referred to the OPHD Investigation Team for formal investigation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct outreach and intake interviews related to allegations of harassment and discrimination
  • Assess documentary evidence and conduct alternative resolutions when appropriate
  • Make recommendations concerning matters that should be referred to the OPHD Investigation Team for formal investigation
  • Assist with conducting internal audits, legal research, and providing campus training
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3+ years of directly related experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in conducting relevant complaint processing
  • Knowledge of best practices and methodologies for handling harassment and discrimination complaints
  • Training in trauma-focused approaches to investigations
  • Computer competency in basic Microsoft software programs and ability to learn and work proficiently in UC and UCSF-specific case management and document management applications
