Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Coordinator Specialist to join our team As a key member of our Projects & Planning department, you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the planning, permitting, and execution of park improvement projects. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in project management or planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate vendor and contractor research, selection, contracting, scheduling, and supervision for park-focused maintenance and enhancement projects.
  • Obtain permits for park improvement projects, including form input entry, collecting measurements and photographs, and drafting site layout plans.
  • Support community engagement sessions to solicit project feedback and provide key project information.
  • Prepare and manage templates and files to aid in project planning, such as memos, slide decks, budget spreadsheets, and project timelines.
  • Oversee project signage efforts, including content generation, design collaboration, internal/external approvals, printing, and installation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in coordination of projects with budgets of at least $10,000.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, strong attention-to-detail, and follow-through.
  • Prioritization and handling of multiple responsibilities simultaneously, with a proactive and adaptive approach to problem solving, and a team-oriented and positive attitude.
  • Public-facing representation of the organization and its projects, from formal settings to leading and attending community meetings.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) and related programs.
  • Clear and polished writing, editing, and internet research skills.
  • Environmentally conscious, with a passion for parks, recreation, open space, and climate resilience.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • A competitive salary of $55,000-$65,000 per year, commensurate with prior experience and demonstrated skills.
  • 15 vacation days, 12 sick days, and 2 personal days per year (after 2 years of service).
  • 7 holidays and 4 floating holidays to use as employee chooses.
  • Health and dental insurance, with 80% of monthly premium paid by the Esplanade Association.
  • 403(b) retirement plan.
  • Commuter benefits, pre-tax deduction up to $300/month.
