We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Trinity Health. As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering radiation therapy treatment to patients in accordance with physician's prescriptions. You will also coordinate care of patients receiving radiation therapy, ensuring that they receive the highest level of care and service.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver radiation therapy treatment to patients in accordance with physician's prescriptions
- Coordinate care of patients receiving radiation therapy, including verifying accuracy of treatment fields and documenting daily treatment data
- Assist physicians with localization of individual fields and record field parameters in treatment charts
- Manufacture blocks in accordance with physician specifications and coordinate care of patients receiving radiation therapy treatments
- Ensure proper function of treatment equipment and maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations
- Graduate of CAHEA-approved Radiation Training Program
- Iowa Permit to practice as a Radiation Therapist
- 0-2 years prior experience required
- Ability to work independently and productively in a fast-paced setting, with strong decision-making skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals
This position requires occasional standing, walking, and lifting of objects weighing up to 24 pounds. The job also requires exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, as well as potential exposure to infectious disease, hazardous waste, and chemicals.
